Hello Everyone! I just came back from a trip to Disney World and wanted to share with you what I have seen and experienced. This was my fourth trip since June 1st 2020. I have felt completely safe each time I traveled. I have seen first hand all of the extra steps that have been taken to ensure traveling is as safe as possible these days. In June, I traveled with my 15 year old son and my 18 year old daughter. We traveled by plane and rented a car. We stayed at the Wyndham next to Disney Springs. Disney Springs was the only part of Disney open at that time. Being just a short walk away, we enjoyed the shopping and restaurants there. In July, I traveled with my daughter, my best friend and her 18 year old daughter. We traveled by plane and used the Universal Studios shuttle from the airport to Loews Royal Pacific Resort. This was a short trip spending 3 days in the parks. In August, I traveled with my son and daughter, my sister, and her 13 year old twins. We stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village. This was the first time to Disney for my sister and children. We traveled by plane and rented a vehicle. Most of our time was spent in the parks, but we also had a day at Cocoa Beach. In November, I traveled with my son and daughter again by plane. We stayed in a few different hotels and had a rental car (which made switching rooms quite easy). Old Key West was our first resort, then Pop Century and Art of Animation Cars Family Suite. My experience in the airport was swift and comforting. Everyone had their masks on and respected social distancing. I always carry my own hand sanitizer on my bag and we used it often after touching anything. The first 3 trips, the flight had between 40-50 people total. The airline boarded us 10 people at a time. This process went quickly and smoothly without the normal congestion of boarding. My most recent flight was full to the booking specifications of leaving the middle seat open, so we still had space. Boarding 10 at a time still went quickly and efficiently. Each experience I had with renting a car went quickly and smoothly as well. They even sanitized my credit card before handing it back to me! All three of the vehicles were very clean when we got in them. Universal’s shuttle was also quite simple and they left many seats open so we felt safe distanced from other people. Disney Springs requires a temperature check and now has a metal detector screening in the parking garages. I felt everyone did a pretty good job of social distancing each time we were there. As usual the area was very clean. The restaurants respected social distancing at the tables. World of Disney has added plexiglass at the checkouts for everyone's safety. Universal Studios requires masks and temperature checks. They have added hand sanitizer stations and have employees dispensing it to each person before boarding a ride. Disney World parks require masks and temperature checks as well. Disney has done a wonderful job of adding hand sanitizer or hand washing stations throughout the parks. Characters are still appearing but maintain a safe distance. On rides and attractions you are spaced out from other parties either using plexiglass or by leaving empty seats in between. Disney Resorts have also stepped up their cleaning procedures to ensure you are as safe as possible. The remote control and the shampoo/conditioner caddy are sealed in plastic after being sanitized. I hope this information helps you in understanding the precautions being taken to keep everyone safe. After traveling, I have no qualms about going. We wear our masks, wash or sanitize our hands, and keep our distance from others. I travel with confidence using my precautions as well as what has been set forth by Disney, Universal, Southwest, Alamo and Wyndham.
