Thursday's Sailing Thoughts

Have you ever wanted to throw your hands up and just sail away?  While the cruise industry is suffering immensely this year, there is hope for a bright future.  It's never too early to consider booking a cruise.  In fact, typically the earlier you plan and reserve, the better.
Cruising on Disney's Magic for 7 nights in October 2017 was one of the most amazing vacations that I have ever experienced with my family.  We sailed from New York City down the Atlantic to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay and then enjoyed a day docked in Port Canaveral (which included a park hopper ticket to Walt Disney World).  We had 19 people in our group (11 adults and 8 children) which provided wonderful memories that will certainly last for eternity.  There were days when everyone enjoyed doing different things (winning or losing at bingo, relaxing in the spa, chilling by the pool, meeting new friends in the kid's clubs or having fun on the water slide), but we made a pact that we would all have dinner together each night.  While the children were enjoying their meals at one table, the adults were enjoying the down time with drinks and appetizers. After the children were finished, the fathers were in charge of taking them up to the kid's clubs and when the meal was over for the adults, the mothers had the job of gathering them.  Most nights we spent together in the theater (enjoying a musical, a magician and another show).  Castaway Cay is phenomenal for any type of visitor.  From sunbathing to swimming in the blue waters with stingrays to touring the local town to playing in the water park, we didn't want the day on the island to end.  We even competed in the Castaway Cay 5k.  Back on the ship, there were pirate and Halloween themed nights with the most amazing fireworks you quite possibly will ever see and a formal evening where we were able to meet the Captain and his crew.  Characters were available on different decks for meet and greets and a dance party during the Halloween night.  To say that we were sad when our week was over, would be an understatement.  Everyone is anxious to cruise again soon (even my mom who was truly not looking forward to this vacation because of her fear of water).

There is something for everyone and I consider cruising the best multi-generational vacation available.
Disney Cruise Line just released dates today for the remainder of 2021 sailings.  Contact me today to begin planning.  Based on your Castaway Club member status, bookings can start July 27, with everyone being able to reserve on July 30.
